Your cosmetic surgeon can perform many ways for your brow lift (or forehead lift), and your surgeon will go through the options with you and assess which procedure is the most appropriate for you.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nduka cuts across the top of your scalp which is hidden by your hairline in a coronal brow lift. The surgeon removes excess skin, shortens the muscles that cause frown lines and lifts your eyebrows.<\/p>\n<p>In a different technique, Mr. Nduka may use an endoscope for keyhole surgery. He will make tiny cuts in your hairline and will insert the endoscope to reduce the muscles that cause frown lines. Thus, this type of brow lift has the advantage of minimal scarring, but the surgeon can make fewer changes.<\/p>\n<p>Each method requires a local or general anaesthetic and you will usually be able to return home later the same day. You should be able to return to work after a week to 10 days although if you have the endoscopic procedure, this might be sooner. After 10 days you should begin to look and feel better.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nduka will take you through all the risks and benefits associated with this type of procedure. It is important to talk through your expectations with Mr Nduka before the procedure.<\/p>\n<h2>After your surgery<\/h2>\n<p>In the time after your surgery, there are a number of things of which you should be aware.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 You will probably have some bruising around your forehead, therefore, it is wise to limit vigorous activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 You may experience headaches for the first few days. Take paracetamol or the medication provided by your surgeon if you experience any discomfort. It is important not to take aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medications as these can promote bleeding.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In the first few weeks after surgery, your eyelids may not close fully, which can lead to dryness and irritation of your eyes. Protect your eyes from drying out by using lubricants and eye moisturisers\u00a0like artificial tears particularly at night.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The position of your eyebrows immediately after surgery will probably be a little higher than you had expected.
