The modified scar technique for young patients undergoing lengthening temporalis myoplasty

Before and after images showing the almost undetectable scar and uncompromised reanimation achieved using this technique.

One of the main criticisms of the tradition temporalis myoplasty procedure as described by Daniel Labbé is the need to create a nasolabial incision. In young patients without a well- defined nasolabial fold, this scar may be noticeable and detract from the aesthetic result. A modified approach is described which hides the scar discreetly in the natural contours of the alar crease, philtral column and vermillion border.
